Restaurant Review: Boulevard Kitchen in Manzil Downtown (Dubai)

I wanted a quiet night out with a new friend. The obvious choice was a restaurant in the hotel where I needn’t go very far.

I wanted a quiet night out with a new friend. The obvious choice was a restaurant in the hotel where I needn’t go very far.

I don’t know what the restaurant looked like during the day, but at night it had a very intimate feel to it. As I walked in, I could smell the aroma of meat and vegetables grilling.

An open kitchen made us feel like we were in on the action but just far enough to still have a conversation.

The line of tables against the leather bench was perfect for enjoying a hearty meal. The pairs of armchairs upon the background of Arabic screens were the perfect setting for a glass of wine or bourbon.

Old school Arabic tunes played smoothly in the background. Um Kalthoum and other singers from Turkey and Morocco serenaded us all night long.

I didn’t know what to order so I asked the manager who was working the tables what he thought I should get. He suggested the sea bass and boy was he spot on. Light and flavorful paired with colorful julienned vegetables and a tahini sauce. Just spicy enough to add some zing to the already delicious taste of the sea bass.
